By William Mason Esqr. ''[Esquire]'' Commissioner named and appointed by virtue of a Writ of Dedimus Potestatem under the hand and seal of the Honorable Thomas Bee Esquire one of the Justices of the Court of Common Pleas in the State of South Carolina ~

To all to whom these Presents shall come, be seen or made known, Greeting ~

Know Ye that on the Twenty Eighth Day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight ''[28 Apr 1778]'', Before me personally came and appeared **Esther** the Wife of **Richard Norman** of St. John's Parish, Santee in Berkley County in South Carolina, Planter, who being by me privately and separately examined did acknowledge and declare that she did freely and voluntarily without any manner of Compulsion, Dread or fear of her said Husband or any other Person or Persons whomsoever consent to and join with her said Husband in certain Indentures of Lease and [[transcriptions:land_records:releases:release_to_thomas_boone_1778-03-19|Release]] bearing Date respectively the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Days of March last past ''[18 Mar 1778 & 19 Mar 1778]'' and made Between said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife of the one part, and **Thomas Boone** of St. James's Parish Santee in South Carolina aforesaid Planter, of the other part, in granting, releasing, conveying and assuring unto the said **Thomas Boone** his Heirs and Assigns forever All that Plantation or Tract of Land containing six hundred and forty two ''[642]'' Acres situate and being in Craven County in South Carolina aforesaid, on the south side of the Great or Main Santee Road; bounding to the North on the said road, and is opposite to Lands of **Anthony Simmons** Esqr to the Westward on Lands of ''«blank space»'' to the Southward on Lands of ''«blank space»'' to the Eastward on Lands of ''«blank space»'' which said Plantation or Tract of Land Descended unto and became vested in the said **Esther Norman** as only Daughter and Heiress at Law of her mother **Susannah Bersheba Couturier** late of the said State Deceased (late **Duboise** ''[sic: **Dubose**]'')

Together with all and singular the Houses, Outhouses, Ways, Passages, Waters, Water Courses, Woods, Underwoods, Timber and Timber Trees, Lights, Easements, Profits, Commodities, Emoluments, Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Plantation or Tract of Land standing being belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits thereof or of any part thereof To hold and the agreement is such That the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his Wife do acknowledge the aforesaid Plantation or Tract of Land and all and singular other the Premises and Appurtenances above mentioned to be the Right of him the said **Thomas Boone** as those which the said **Thomas Boone** hath of the Gift of the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife and they do remise release and forever quit Claim to the same for them the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife, and the Heirs of the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife and each of them to the aforesaid **Thomas Boone** and his Heirs and Assigns forever And moreover the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife do hereby Grant for themselves and their and every of their Heirs that they will warrant to the said **Thomas Boone** and his Heirs and Assigns forever the aforesaid Plantation or Tract of Land and all and singular other the Premises and Appurtenances above mentioned against them the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife and each of them, their and each of their Heirs forever and for this and so forth

and this is the final agreement done and made at Charles Town in the State of South Carolina the Day and Year first above written 

Before me the said William Mason Commissioner aforesaid Between the said **Richard Norman** and **Esther** his wife and the aforesaid **Thomas Boone**. In Testimony whereof I the said William Mason have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of Office to be affixed the Day and Year first above written. ~
