A grant from the honble [honorable] Sir Nathaniel Johnson [Hnb?] Gov. and James Moore & Job Homes Esqrs [Esquires] the rest of the late Lords Props [Proprietors] Deputies & Commissrs [Commissioners] for Selling of Land in the province of South Carolina bearing date the fifteenth day of September anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and five [15 Sep 1705] to Benjamin Waring and his heirs of a plantation cont [containing] one thousand five hundred & seventy [1570] acres of Land situate in Berkley County butting & bounding to the North and Northwest part on the Lands now on late of James Ford part on the Lands of Mr. Boycan [sic: probably misspelling of “Boykin”] part of the Lands now on late of Aaron Way and part of the Lands now on late of Benjamin Summer [sic: probably misspelling of “Sumner”] To the Northeast on lands late of Rebecca Axtell & the Southeast on Moses Norman's Land to the South on the said Benjamin Waring's land and the Southwest on lands now on late of W. Percival's. The quit rents reserved thereon being twelve pence per hundred acres payable on every first day of December after the date thereof All which premisses [sic] are now descended and come to Thomas Waring eldest son and heir of the said Ben Waring who died Intestate save that two hundred & eight [208] acres of the sd [said] one thousand five hundred and seventy [1570] acres of Lands now upon a reservey [sic: resurvey] found to belong to the plantation commonly called the Ponds late belonging to the said Mr. Purcival so that there is now remaining in the hands of the sd Thomas Waring only one thousand three hundred and sixty two [1362] acres by virtue of the said Grant which is required to be registered by me the said Thos. Waring pursuant to the acts of Assembly in that case made & provided.
