Will of Doctor Ceser, St. Pauls Parish SC, 17 May 1754

In the Name of God Amen I Doctor Ceser of South Carolina In St. Pauls Parish Practitioner of Phisick [sic] Though Weak in Body yet of Perfect understanding and Memory do Constitute and Appoint this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows

Impri [Imprimis] I Give my Body to the Earth from wence [sic] it was taken to be Buryed [sic] at the discretion of my Exors [Executors] hereafter mentioned as for my Worldly Estate I will and order that all my Effects be sold and turn'd into Money out of which I Desire all my Lawfull [sic] Debts may be paid

Item I Give to my Wife Lilly (at this Time Slave to Captain John Norman) Ten Pounds to be paid her out of my Estate by my Exors for her own Proper use forever I also give to my Daughter Lycy [sic] Twenty Pounds [£20] to be paid her by my Exors as above

Item I will that all the Rest of my Estate be put out to use for the Benefit of my Daughter Hannah at this time slave to the abovesaid John Norman to be applied either in Purchasing her freedom or to Supply Anny [sic] other of her Necessitys [sic] at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter Named and in Case my said Daughter Hannah should ever obtain her freedom then I will that whatever be Left of that part of my Estate given for her use be put into her own hands as her Property's forever after she comes to the age of Eighteen Years But if she should die before she has her freedom or has any Issue free Born then that part of my Estate to be Applyed [sic] to the use of my Two Grand Children Namely Peggy and Ceaser at the Discretion of my Exors

Lastly I Nominate and Appoint my two friend [sic] James Baker and Andrew Way Exors of this my Last Will and Testament and Trustees for my abovesaid Wife and Children
