A memorial exhibited by James Pendarvis to be regd [registered]
in Audrs. Off: S.C. [Auditor's Office South Carolina]
of a plantation or tract of land containing seventy five [75]
acres (being part of a tract of three hundred [300]
acres) originally granted to Moses Norman the 13th day of January 1710 [13 Jan 1710]
: Butting and bounding SErd [southeastward]
on Lands laid out to John Simmons (since decd. [deceased]
) and on all other sides thereon vacant: situate in Colleton, St. Pauls Parish, at a place called Beach Hill.
Also, of another tract of land containing one hundred and eighteen acres and half an acre [118.5]
, being the moiety or one half part of a tract of two hundred and thirty seven [237]
acres of land, situate in Colleton County, in St. Pauls Parish, at Beach Hill: Bounding at the time of the survey Erdly [Eastwardly]
on Lands then of Moses Graves (since decd.) Srdly [Southwardly]
on Land of Moses Norman, and Wrdly [Westwardly]
and Nrdly [Northwardly]
on Lands of Job Chamberline; and conveyed by the said Job Chamberline the 20th of May 1737 [20 May 1737]
to Moses Norman, and afterwards became vested in Joseph Norman.
Also, of another tract of Land containing one hundred [100]
acres situate in Colleton County, St. Pauls Parish, Beach Hill: Butting and bounding to the Wrd [Westward]
on land of William Scott to the Erd & Srd [Eastward and Southward]
on Land of Thomas Porter (decd.) to the Nrd [Northward]
on Lands then in the possession of the said Joseph Norman, and conveyed the 13th day of March 1759 [13 Mar 1759]
by John Winn to Joseph Norman.
Also, of another plantation or tract of land containing five hundred and fifty five [555]
acres, siturate in Colleton County, St. Pauls Parish, Beach Hill; Butting and bounding to the Nrd on land of Saml. [Samuel]
Hardin, James Smith, Archer Smith, and David Blake, to the Erd & Srd on the said William Normans land, to the Wrd [Westward]
on land of Susanah [sic: Susannah]
Perry and Sarah Finly [sic: Finley]
: and conveyed the 22d day of Septr 1768 [22 Sep 1768]
by John and Richard Norman to Wm. [William]
Norman: –
all which four several tracts of 75 Acres, 118 1/2 Acres, 100 Acres and 555 Acres, making in the whole eight-hundred and forty eight acres and half an acre [848 1/2]
, being the property and invested in the aforsd [aforesaid]
Wm. Norman, were sold and conveyed by him and Mary his wife to the memorialist, by lease and release bearing date respectively the 16th and 17th days of April 1770 [16 Apr 1770 & 17 Apr 1770]
